―もうひとつの幸福のルール―

　幸福のかたちに諸説あっても、「自由」が幸福の条件であることに異論のある人はいないだろう。奴隷が幸福
になれないのは自由を奪われているからだ。私達は自分自身の支配者であり、誰もその権利を侵すことはできない。

　ヒトは一匹の動物として生まれ、成長し、老い、死んでいく。この世に生を受ける前に親や社会を選ぶことは
できない。ほとんどの日本人は、莫大な財政赤字を抱え、少子高齢化に苦しむこの国とともに二十一世紀初頭を生きていくことになるだろう。そう考えれば、人生の大半は運命と呼ぶほかないものによって、あらかじめ決めら
れている。だからこそ私達は、残されたわずかな自由を大切に生きるのだ。
　私はこれまで繰り返し同じことを述べてきた。
　人生を経済的側面から語るなら、その目的は何ものにも依存せずに自分と家族の生活を守ることのできる経済的独立を達成することにある。
　自由とは人生に複数の選択肢を持つことだ。国家であれ会社であれ、経済的に第三者に依存し、そこにしがみ
つくしか生きる術がないのなら、新たな一歩は永遠に踏み出せないだろう。
　独立のために一定量の貨幣が必要なら、与えられた資源を有効活用し、最短距離で目標に到達することで人生はより豊かになる。経済合理的に生きる意味はここにある－－－。
　自由や富が幸福な人生を約束する訳ではない。それは未知の世界を旅する通行証のようなものではないだろうか。いつの日かその扉をあけてみたいと、私はずっと夢見てきた。
